With the intention of documenting the recent development related to political demand of the Kuki community in Manipur, the Press Statement which was released by the President of Kuki National Organisation on August 10, 2016 is translated into Zou language as it shows a new chapter in the political movement of the Kuki people.

I have traveled to the length and breadth of Manipur, I have visited every nook and corner. What I often pondered on while crossing district boundaries is "This is the reason why the valley and the Hills always bla bla bla".

Coming down from Maphou dam [the end of Imphal East district which is under Saikul division] to Moirangpurel GP, then moving down to Changamdabi and Yambem GPs, further crossing Top Chingtha and Keirao gram panchayats. It sometimes looks so funny that the river and its basin which its breadth is less than a kilometre is being administered under Imphal East District. The Thoubal river is surrounded by Ukhrul and Senapati district hill ranges. Coming down to Ngarian hills. The hills which is under Senapati is again surrounded by the valley which falls under Imphal East district. Those villages which are on the hills have to come to Saikul for official works. On interesting development is that, those villages took part in GP elections of the valley as well as MLA election under Senapati.

TOWN PLANNING: WILL IT BE POSSIBLE?

Urban planning is a technical and political process concerned with the use of land, protection and use of the environment, public welfare, and the design of the urban environment, including air, water, and the infrastructure passing into and out of urban areas such as transportation, communications, and distribution. Keeping aside all this unavoidable processes, I would like to simply contribute what I have been thinking for the initial town of Lamka (Churachandpur) planning.

Lamka town of Churachandpur district is a fast developing district headquarter of Manipur. In spite of the high standard of living in the town, its planning needs to be improved and a poor infrastructure maintenance maligned the image. The town is now deadly congested, the main road needs to be expanded in order to accommodate vehicle traffic and human movement. Since the expansion of the roads are still a hanging dream, it would be wise if the administration could take up alteration of the passenger vehicle's parking coming from different directions.
