ZOLENGTHE: A Digital Home for the Zo People — An Analysis of Its Global Membership

ZOLENGTHE - Connecting the Zo people - presents an interesting example of how a community-based digital platform can transcend geographical boundaries and create a virtual space for a dispersed ethnic community. Founded on 1 January 2007, the Facebook group has grown into a network of 51,762 members across 94 countries and territories, according to the membership data provided as of 19 September 2026.

The figures tell a story that goes beyond numbers. They reveal the geographical spread of the Zo community, the continuing importance of the homeland, the emergence of diaspora networks, and the role of social media in connecting communities separated by mountains, national borders and oceans.

2th Zolengthe Anniversary cum 1st Zolengthe Multi-Academic Awards 2019

The 12th Zolengthe Anniversary cum 1st Zolengthe Multi-Academic Awards 2019 was held on the 21st December 2019 at Zougal Memorial Hall, Zoveng, Lamka, Churachandpur, Manipur.  A total of 50 Awards was given to people with outstanding performances in the various fields such as Lifetime Achievement in various categories, arts and crafts, music, writings and book publications, acting and movie makings, etc.

ZOLENGTHE EXTENDS A HELPING HAND

Lamka, 31 July: One of the most popular social media among the Zo community in India known as ZOLENGTHE, with the motto of 'Connecting the Zo people' today extends a helping hand for the victim of an outbreak infectious disease.

The administrators of the group voluntarily contributed from their own pocket money and extended a helping hand to the Kuki Khanglai Lawmpi (KKL) Ghq today. Zolengthe donated a sum of Rs. 4000 towards KKL Contingency fund for accommodating hundreds of patients who are camping at KKL Complex at Chiengkonpang, Lamka.

Zolengthe admins also pay a sum of Rs. 1000 to Simte Youth Orgn Ghq as a condolence to late Thangkhanlun Simte who was allegedly murdered by some known persons while interrogating on account of the accusation that he had stolen a huge amount of money from his employer.
