Rock band Traffic Jam Rocks Lamka

Lamka Public Ground - June 24, 2017: The event, City Wide Concert, organised by Zomi Artistes Association on June 24 left music lovers in the city asking for an encore. The show began with a number of local singers and musicians. Local artistes includes from the less known to the most popular musician in the region like Mr. Gouhau and others. Throughout the concert from the beginning till the time the Traffic Jam shows up their faces, the real rock-stars, and the audience keep chanting Traffic Jam, Traffic Jam, Traffic Jam. The craze of the audience for Traffic Jam somehow pulls-back the local artistes to great extend.


Though the concert started at 4pm, the Traffic Jam occupies the stage by 11 passed late night. The moment the main vocalist – Jimmy Thang shows his face on the stage, a multitude who have scattered to each and every corner of the huge Lamka Public Ground rushed towards the stage. The youngsters regardless of boys or girls keep jumping and shouting Traffic Jam, Traffic Jam, Traffic Jam, Traffic Jam, Traffic Jam, Traffic Jam, Traffic Jam, Traffic Jam, Traffic Jam, Traffic Jam, Traffic Jam.

The show began with a very well known classic rock song “We don't need no education, We don't need no thought control” from the album The Wall by Pink Floyd which was written by Roger Waters. This classic rock performance energized the hot blooded music lovers of the town.

To continue the high tempo, the rock band continued with another classic rock song from the album News of the World by Queen called We will, We Will Rock You. As excitement of the audience reach the maximum limit, they have turn into the main vocalists, the voice of the band’s main singer is overpowered by the voice of the rock stars – the audience. Without taking a break, the rock band continued with I Want to Break Free - a song by the British rock band Queen which was followed by another rock after another. 

As the show progressed, Daisy Mate Munluo, who is one of the founding members and Jimmy's wife, joined him on the stage and sang soft numbers which was their original composition, "God My Strength". The band kept raising the tempo with every song and those people who are in the VIP lounge soon left their seats and started dancing along with the young boys and girls on the floor. Song requests from different corners of the play-ground also kept pouring in. The show concluded with all-time favourites like Summer Of 69. It was already thirty minutes passed one am in the morning.

TRAFFIC JAM is a 4 - piece band with a message. With all members from the north east of India , living under similar circumstances, and meeting up far from home in the grounds of Delhi, the band strives to pay tribute to the Rock Gods and Anthems they grew up with , in their homeground.

As an "all-genre" band, the band's roots go down to the basic strong foundation of each of the members who are all passionate laureates of music. constantly learning and teaching, Also having had to live-off music, the band has played in numerious great places like : "Striker breweries, Hard Rock Cafe, Soi7, Geoffrey's, Lutyens, BriX, Attitude, Manajsa, DLF city club, Sutra, Brewer Street and whole lots of other greats places in NCR.
